The chief goal of the Empire is to expand, so where should you focus your expansion? The systems in which you start with loyalty will let you know.That being said, set up still informs your overall strategy. The Imperial player just needs to distribute his forces across the Empire. The Rebels need to determine where to place their base and where to place their forces. Imperials, being reactionary, have fewer decisions to make during set up when compared to the Rebels. I always try to balance my initial forces in order to leave no easy targets for the Rebels We’ll start with set-up before addressing your missions, leaders and some points on overall strategy. I know that is a lot, but hopefully that is a good summary. Each is worth 2 reputation to the Rebels. It will preserve your better leaders for other missions.Use “Research and Development” to remove the Sabotage.

Your units only purpose is to explore the galaxy and find the Rebel base.

A good Rebel player will not allow you to bring it to bear.

You will have the military might to enforce your will.

The only missions I prioritize are those that help you hinder the rebels or find the base such as Capture Rebel Operative and Gather Intel.

Save leaders to resist the rebels and to expand your empire.

The rebels only you need to run out the clock. You win by finding the Rebel base so you need to expand. You need to respond to the actions of the Rebels. There are few cases where you should initiate. Here are my highlights and once I’ve shared them I’ll dig deeper into my strategy for winning. At that point I actually had to figure out how to play the Empire.

Then, I figured out the Rebels and suddenly I struggled to win with the Empire. I played them more effectively than I did the Rebels, at first. When I bought this game, I understood the Empire much better. That means exploring every nook and cranny in the galaxy. Your job is to find the Rebellion, wherever they are hiding.
